Sifting Bidenisms

I was sardonically amused by the opinion polls measuring who won the vice-presidential debate. When one has a chance to sift through the dialog, Joe Biden certainly scored high, if you count lies, exaggerations and wholly unsupported information. The 300-word limitation does not allow for a thorough countering of Biden's remarks.
To offer a few: France and the United States did not "kick Hezbollah out of Lebanon."
John McCain was not soft on regulations on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Actually, he tried to beef up regulations. Democrats resisted this effort. (This sorry situation could be the subject of another lengthy letter.)
Obama did pledge to meet with Iran's president.
Biden has opposed offshore drilling. He compared it to "raping the outer continental shelf."
McCain did not oppose troop funding. He opposed legislation that contained a withdrawal deadline.
Biden claimed we have spent more in three weeks on combat in Iraq than we spent in the last seven years in building the country of Afghanistan. Biden was off by 2,000 percent.
Now if anyone feels this is an unfair characterization of Biden, I would be happy to meet and discuss this at "Katie's Restaurant" in Wilmington, Del. Oh, sorry! It has been closed for about eight years.
