Pats Top Mustangs In Girls' Volleyball

The Pinecrest girls' volleyball team improved to 9-2 in the Mid-Southeastern Conference and 14-5 overall with a pair of road wins on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wednesday, Emily Despain served for 17 points and had 10 digs in Wednesday's 25-16, 25-17 and 25-18 non-conference victory at North Moore.

On Tuesday, the Patriots defeated Hoke County 25-19, 25-21 and 25-18 in league play. A strong all around performance by setter Morgan Ridge included 12 service points, 13 assists and five digs. Addy George contributed eight kills and Ashley Sweeting had four kills and six digs.

Also for the Pats, Despain chipped in with 12 service points and five digs, Karmen Spencer had 15 digs and Arielle Fairley was credited with six.
