The Aberdeen dental office of Kuhn Dental Associates recently served as the training facility for Dental Implant Associates of North Carolina (DIANC).
Thirty-five dentists attended the Aug. 2223 training session held by DIANC, which included placement of a total of 75 implants in 17 actual patients. Also covered were utilization of dental imaging, techniques in bone grafting and restoration of the final teeth. The August training session marks the third time DIANC training has been held at Kuhn Dental Associates.
Since 1979, DIANC has offered educational support surrounding implant dentistry. The organization was founded for dentists in North and South Carolina and Virginia wanting to offer dental implants an opportunity to receive hands-on surgical training without having to travel out of the region.
Throughout the meeting, members most seasoned in implant dentistry provided assistance to those needing support.
Following the session, Dr. David Kuhn, a charter member and past-president, stated, "The success of organizations such as DIANC reveals the significant demand for localized training for dentists who want to offer implants as a practical alternative to dentures and partials. This is because more adults are showing a preference for dental implants for replacing teeth."
