Aberdeen police are searching for someone who robbed the Wilco Hess gas station on N.C. 5 Tuesday while armed with a handgun.

The robbery occurred at about 10:18 p.m. The suspect is described as a black man, about 5-foot-5, and weighing 160 pounds. He wore dark clothing, sunglasses and a stocking cap.

The robber got an undisclosed amount of money, according to Capt. Jim Foster. He left on foot, and headed north toward the bowling ally.
