Check Tax Proposals

I keep hearing John McCain and his staff members say that Barack Obama plans to increase the taxes of those making just $41,000 a year. Obama denies this. Who is telling the truth, I wondered?
Going on the Internet I entered "Obama and McCain Tax Proposal charts" on the search engine. Charts are very helpful to determine exactly what you can expect. Several sites have charts. Even though the charts say the same thing, The Washington Post chart is easiest to understand.
You can look at this chart and see exactly where you will stand when either person gets into the White House. As an example, if you are in the bracket of $37,596 to $66,354, McCain will reduce your taxes by less that one percent (actually, .07 percent), while Obama will reduce your taxes more than two percent (actually 2.4 percent).
Math is not my strong point, but doesn't a reduction of 2.4 percent versus .07 percent mean you will be paying less, not more, taxes under Obama?
The Washington Post chart figured a dollar amount for those within each tax bracket. Within the $37,596 to $66,354 bracket, a person would pay $319 less in taxes under McCain, while that same person would pay $1,042 less in taxes under Obama. That means that the person in this bracket would be $723 richer under Obama at the end of the year.
Just today, I heard McCain say that we should expect our president to tell us the truth. His untruths have destroyed the few (very few) good points he may have had.
