In conjunction with the Sandhills Horticultural Society's Fall Plant Sale, there is an exciting new addition this year. Students from the Landscape Gardening Department will offer a variety of plants they have propagated from the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens.

The sale will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to noon at Heutte Hall on the campus of Sandhills Community College.

There will be a limited number of shrubs, groundcovers, trees and perennials available. Pre-orders will not be available for these selections; however, plants will be labeled and students will be on-site to provide cultural information during the morning sale hours.

Plant selections that will be available for pre-ordering include: locally grown camellias, azaleas, including Encores; loropetalum, Knockout roses, gardenias and pansies. In addition, a selection of daffodil bulbs from Holland will be available. Pre-orders will be accepted for these plants and bulbs offered by the Horticultural Society by calling 246-4959.

"This event is an opportunity to support the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens at the college," says a spokesman.
