Charges Filed Against Woman Accused of Taking Purse

A purse stolen from a woman who was in a local store resulted in several charges being filed against an Aberdeen woman.
Rebecca Williams Tharp, 29, is accused of stealing the purse from a Whispering Pines woman who was shopping at Wal-Mart, according to a press release from the Moore County Sheriff's Department.
Tharp is also accused of using debit cards found in the purse at a convenience store in Moore County. The incident was reported on Nov. 11, and Tharp was arrested on Nov. 21.
Sheriff's deputies charged Tharp with felony financial card theft, common law forgery, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor possession of stolen property and two counts of misdemeanor financial card fraud.
Tharp was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
