SANDHILLS BEST BETS: Skaters for Moore, NAMI Hold Joint Fundraiser

Skaters for Moore, the nonprofit that owns and operates SkateMoore Skatepark in Pinebluff, and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will have a joint fundraiser, from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Easy's Sports Bar and Grill in Olmsted Village, Pinehurst.
The fundraiser will feature the eclectic musical stylings of local musicians James Villone, Gavin Farmer, and Matt Wood. Admission will be $7 for students and $10 for adults.
All proceeds from the event will be split between Skaters for Moore and NAMI.

Auction
Episcopal Day School will hold its annual auction Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Fair Barn.
There will be live entertainment, holiday shopping, and food provided by Elliot's on Linden.
Tickets are $25.

Train Show
The Sandhills Central Model Rail Road Club's annual Train Show will be held at the Campbell House in Southern Pines, Saturday, Nov. 22, and Sunday, Nov. 23, from noon to 4 p.m.
Admission is $3; kids under 4'8," are admitted free.
Thanksgiving Feast
MANNA!, a nonprofit organization that feeds the hungry of Moore County by providing prepared meals, will host its third Thanksgiving feast on Saturday, Nov. 22, from noon to 2 p.m., at five locations: Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, Southern Pines; Spaulding Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Taylortown; Love Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Jackson Hamlet; Word of Truth Christian Center; Vass and Southern Pines Seventh Day Adventist Church.
To help provide this feast for less fortunate neighbors, those interested can send a $25 donation to MANNA!, P.O. Box 1081, Southern Pines, NC 28388-1081.
'Last Waltz'
The Sunrise Theater will show the film, "The Last Waltz," at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27. Admission is free
Martin Scorsese chronicles the most legendary night in rock history, as an unparalleled lineup of rock superstars -- including Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Van Morrison -- take the stage for The Band's 1976 farewell concert.
The theater is located in Southern Pines.
