I've thought of a few things to write about lately until I saw Matthew Moriarty's column (Nov. 14, "Come On, 'Tis Not Yet Time for the Season"). Thank you, Matthew!

No one I have ever known likes to see Christmas before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is about family and friends getting together. Just try to find Thanksgiving decorations -- almost impossible!

Early Christmas, I'll bet you, doesn't benefit the store owners, either. People shop when they are ready, and seeing Santa before Turkey Day is a real turnoff.

If Wal-Mart has to do it, and all the other big stores, it doesn't mean our little town can't wait and come in with gusto the weekend after Thanksgiving.
