Vass Man Charged With Break-Ins

A Vass man was arrested on various charges related to breaking into a hardware store and a house.
Jonathon Midgett, 26, of Pats Road, Vass, was arrested by Moore County Sheriff's deputies on Nov. 4. He is charged with breaking into and stealing from a house and from Edwards Hardware, both located in Vass.
Midgett also faces two charges of fraud, one involving Edwards Hardware Store and one involving Jim's Loans, Guns and Gold in Southern Pines. He faces breaking and entering and larceny charges concerning the house break-in on Nov. 2.
Deputies, with assistance from the Vass Police Department, conducted a search of Midgett's house on Nov. 4, discovering two firearms, stolen property from Edwards Hardware and drug paraphernalia. Midgett's bail was set at $50,000.
On Nov. 5, Midgett was charged with several more violations, including possession of firearms by a felon, with his bail on those charges set at $100,000.
Midgett has a long arrest record in Guilford and Dare counties.
