Krueger Leads in D.A. Race

With 23 of 25 Moore County precincts and one-stop voting tallied, Maureen Helen Krueger appears to have posted a win in the race for local district attorney. She has 78 percent of the vote to challenger's Tony Berk's 22 percent.
In school board races, Kathy Farren leads Ed Dennison, while Laura Kite leads Enola Lineberger. Bruce Cunningham and Lorna Clack are running unopposed.
According to the Moore County Board of Elections Web site, Republicans are winning most races, including a substantial lead for John McCain over Barack Obama in the presidential race.
State Sen. Harris Blake is comfortably ahead in his race against Democrat Abraham Oudeh, while Jamie Boles, Republican, also holds a comfortable lead in his race against Betty Mangum to represent District 52 in the House of Representatives. Longtime Representative Howard Coble also appears to have been successful in his bid to return to Congress.
