Flyers Open Hoops Season With Win

Sandhills Community College opened its first men's basketball season in more than 20 years with a victory.
The Flyers defeated Southside Community College 99-91 Friday night.
A trio of freshman guards led the way offensively for the Flyers. Germann Bostic scored a team-high 31, Okoye Hood added 16 points and Kelly Miller had 11.
Sandhills (1-0) is back in action this afternoon with another road game against Carolina Prep. That game tips off at 5 p.m.
On Monday the team travels to Rockingham CC for a 7 p.m. game. The team's first home game is slated for 3 p.m. Nov. 9 against Lenoir CC. All Flyer home games will be played at The O'Neal School.
