Lulu Oleona Knibbs, 91, of Pinehurst, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Pinelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, with Kay Stoffel officiating.
A visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Powell Funeral Home, Southern Pines.
Mrs. Knibbs was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Plymouth, a daughter of the late Moses and Hattie Sutton Towe. She was an administrative associate for the New York City Housing Authority, a volunteer for the Coalition for Human Care, a member of the League of Women Voters and a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Southern Pines. She was also active with the Moore County Democratic Party.
Mrs. Knibbs is survived by her husband, Arthur Knibbs, of Pinehurst; three sons, Arte Knibbs, of Pinehurst, Dr. Lester Allyson Knibbs, of Hoffman, and Wadi Abdul-Haleem, of Southern Pines.

Powell Funeral Home, Southern Pines, is assisting the family.
