The students of Standing Warriors Kenpo/Combative Fighting Studios, along with head instructor Lynn Lane, traveled to Raleigh for a full day of traning with Grand Master Vic LeRoux of the IKCA, Grand Master Robert Temple of the Black Karate Federation, and 4th Degree Black Belt and cage fighter, Dan Mahr of New York.

Students trained in hand-speed drills, fighting from the ground, defense against grapplers and Jiu-Jitsu, techniques for VIP protection or bodyguards and endurance drills for stamina.

"We all must continue to evolve and better our best as time goes on," Lane said.

Standing Warriors Kenpo/ Combative Arts Studio in located in the East Coast Crossfit/Bodyshop Fitness building on U.S. 1 South, Southern Pines.

"We are the only studio in the state of North Carolina dedicated to adults only," Lane said. "The type of self-defense we teach is not for kids. Our style is for the street and not the ring. I have helped teach special forces, police officers and town officials and employees. We also offer a free self-defense class for women the last Saturday of every month."
