Isaac Frank "Ike" Hicks, 81, of Sanford, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, at Rogers Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Brush Creek Church Cemetery, Bear Creek.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Sunday, May 25), at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

Mr. Hicks was born in Chatham County, a son of the late Frank and Sally Jane Foushee Hicks. He was employed as a logger.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Buster Hicks, Claude Hicks and Preston Hicks; and two sisters, Janie Newell and Myrtle Arnette.

Mr. Hicks is survived by two sisters, Edna H. McLeod, of Sanford, and Nannie H. Knight, of Broadway; three brothers, Babe Hicks and his wife, Eva, of Cameron, Ed Hicks and his wife, Beatrice, of Sanford, and Clyde Hicks, of Raleigh.
