Moore County sheriff's deputies have arrested two Addor men in connection with a shooting death Monday night.

Officers arrested Justin Raynal Cotton, 18, and Martin Devon McMillan, 19, Friday and charged both with murder and robbery.

According to Sheriff Lane Carter, the two intended to rob Donald Gray Sands Jr., 43, of Aberdeen.

They are charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, common law robbery and murder.

Capt. Jeff Medlin said he does not know whether the suspects and Sands knew each other.

Deputies responded to an area at the end of Gillespie Street, a sandy road in Addor, about 10:31 p.m. Monday after receiving a call about a vehicle accident. They found Sands shot to death in a car near a white mobile home.

Three shots had been fired at Sands, Carter said, including the fatal shot to the head. One struck him in the arm. The third went through Sands' pants without striking him. Carter did not say which of the two suspects is thought to have pulled the trigger.

Cotton and McMillan were jailed on $50,000 bonds on the robbery charges and are being held with no bond on the murder charge.

Both have a first court appearance on June 2 in Moore County District Court.
