On Sunday, April 27, I was the beneficiary of an act of kindness. A gentleman in the parking lot at Lowes Foods in Olmsted Village was walking with the most beautiful cane. When I commented on it and asked where he had bought it, I was informed that he made it. I wondered aloud where I could buy one like it, since I also walk with a cane.

He handed it to me and said, "It's yours!" He told me that he couldn't make money from another's pain. In my total shock and amazement at his generosity, I didn't get his name. I am writing this with the hope that he will see it in The Pilot and be aware of my deep appreciation.
