Cape Fear Regional Theatre in Fayetteville presents its 25th annual River Show, "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story," Friday, May 9, through Sunday, May 25.
Almost 50 years ago, the man who changed the face of popular music tragically died in a plane crash at age 22. Now "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story" tells the story of the three years in which he became the world's top recording artist. The show features over 20 of Buddy Holly's greatest hits including "Peggy Sue," "That'll Be the Day," and "Oh Boy."
Southern Pines' own Baxter Clement plays the role of Buddy Holly. Clement also played the part in the recent Moore OnStage production at the Sunrise Theater.
The River Show is held at The Riverside Stage at Campbellton Landing on the Cape Fear River, 1122 Person Street, Fayetteville. Dinner will be catered by Georgia Brown's Bar & Grill.
CFRT's production of "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story" runs May 9-25. For ticket information, call (910) 323-4233 or visit www.crft.org.a
