How can we be kind to animals? Whether you are 6 years old or 96 years old, we can help animals live a better life.
Make sure your companion dogs and cats have their rabies shots. The Animal Center of Moore County will come to your house and give rabies shots for $5, if you are unable to transport your pets.
Spay and neuter your dog or cat at five months of age. Bringing more puppies or kittens into the world is not educational or cute.
Speak out in your church, school, garden club or workplace on the importance of respecting animals. Report animal abuse or neglect immediately. Ask your favorite shelter if they need food, towels, leashes or collars. One donated collar can send an animal to his or her new home looking spiffy.
Plant a butterfly or hummingbird garden in your backyard. Drive carefully near our lakes. The geese have had their goslings, and mother goose leads her babies to water 24 hours after birth. Watch for them and slow down.
