Sharing the Blame

An April 25 letter by Martha Jack lays the blame for all our problems on Bill Clinton and the Democrats, but she has omitted mentioning some other disasters that I'm sure must have been caused by Clinton.

How about the eruption of Mt. St. Helens that caused dozens of deaths? What about the big tsunami in Southeast Asia that killed hundreds? And let us not forget the biblical version of the big flood. I haven't made the connection yet, but somehow I feel sure that these events were caused by Clinton and the Democrats.

As for the economy, the Bush administration has had more than seven years to change its direction, but it has continued in its downward spiral -- long before the last congressional election. Bush's former national security adviser alerted him and his White House staff on several occasions that al-Qaida was planning a major attack on this country.

They chose to do nothing except to fire the adviser and appoint Condoleezza Rice, who had zero experience in the field. So don't blame Clinton and the Democrats for all our ills. Bush and the Republican-led Congress have brought more than their fair share of misery upon us.
