Dr. William Greer Kenney, 75, of West End, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

A private memorial service will be held at Chapel in the Pines Memorial Garden, Seven Lakes, at a later date.

Dr. Kenney was born June 1, 1932, in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a son of the late Vernon C. Kenney and Jacqueline Stice Kenney. He was a pediatrician, and was a captain in the U.S. Army for three years.

He was preceded in death by a son, William G. Kenney II.

Dr. Kenney is survived by his wife, Jo C. Kenney, of the home; a son, Jeffery N. Kenney and his wife, Jennifer, of Newport News, Va.; a stepson, Tim Copper and his wife, Lori, of West End; a stepdaughter, Teresa Copper Black and her husband, Mark, of Foxfire Village; seven grandchildren, William G. Kenney III, Lauren Kenney, Conoly Kenney, Greer Keeney, Clai Kenney, Kelley Copper and Austyn Copper; and a daughter-in-law, Morene Kenney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester, NY 14614.
