Northwest Airlines For Local Air Service?

With recent indications that the Moore County Airport is not giving up on bringing air service back to the area, I offer the suggestion that we pursue Northwest Airlines as a viable option, given our province-to-province partnership with China.

The reason would be Northwest's broad network in Asia and also the recent quashing of the deal for them to merge with Delta. If the right service were scheduled to utilize both NWA's Detroit and Twin Cities hubs to our fullest abilities, I really think this combination can work.

The ideal commuter carriers to talk with concerning business with Northwest would be Mesaba and Compass airlines, since Pinnacle Airlines appears to be on the verge of a pilots' strike.

Northwest could be described as a high-quality operation, from the half-dozen times I've flown them in the last couple of years.

Take my opinion for what it's worth. Let's give the idea a try as we come into high season.
