Pro chef knife manufacturer J.A. Henckels and Chef Mark Elliott are featuring two knife sharpening sessions Thursday, March 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It will be held at Kitchen Essence at 905 Linden Road in Pinehurst.

For a $3 donation per knife, which will benefit the Moore County Literacy Council, any knife will be professionally sharpened.

An old knife trade-in event will run simultaneously during the two days. Customers are invited to bring in knives they no longer want for credit to apply toward the purchase of a new Zwilling J.A. Henckels knife.

Credit is structured based on the length of the knife. For instance, a 3-inch paring knife will receive a $3 credit. A 12-inch chef knife will receive a $12 credit. The credit must be applied to the purchase of a new Zwilling J.A. Henckels knife.
