Sorry, Mr. Fred Wolferman. I'm not laughing, not even a little, about your March 14 column, "Let 'Em Have It," and I'd rather let you have it.

What planet have you been living on? From where I'm sitting I've watched the Republican smiling grim reaper do what Republicans always do -- try to destroy any remnant of the New Deal they can and bring back the Gilded Age. Whoopee!

All by themselves they've created a gigantic financial crisis by letting greed have its way -- let's erode government regulation as much as we can -- even forget about the war folly.

I do agree with you on one thing. We're in a gigantic mess created by Republicans, and you've decided to be cute about it.
