Clarence H. Bost, 81, of Pinehurst, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at HCR Manor Care in Pinehurst.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today (Sunday, March 16), at Beulah Hill Baptist Church in West End with the Rev. Curtis Barbery, the Rev. Archie Stevens, the Rev. David Marks, and Rev. David Peitz officiating.
After the service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall.
Born in Moore County to the late Edd and Ethel Bost, Mr. Bost worked for many years in the textile industry and as a butcher in Pinehurst. He was a long-time member of Beulah Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and on many committees through the years.
Mr. Bost was preceded in death by his son, William C. "Bill" Bost' and his stepfather, Steve Galloway.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene F. Bost; his son, Wayland Bost, of Seven Lakes; his daughter, Emily B. Church, of Foxfire Village; his brother, James E. Bost, of Houston, Texas, and his sister, Doris B. Parsons, of Biscoe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Hill Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 492, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
Boles Funeral Home of Pinehurst is serving the family.
