Roy Lee Yow, 65, of Lilesville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2008.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today (Sunday, March 9), at Leavitt Funeral Home, Lilesville, with the Rev. Lou Shepherd and the Rev. Tommy Tice officiating. Interment will be held in Morven Cemetery.

Mr. Yow was born Aug. 19, 1942, in Moore County, a son Ethel Jane McCaskill and the late Daniel McCaskill. He was a truck driver for 45 years and was currently employed with Max Kendall Trucking. He was an active member of Southside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by two children, Cindy Yow and Jr. Parker.

Mr. Yow is survived by his wife, Myrtle Yow, of the home; three sons, Roy Dale Yow, of Polkton, Dale Parker, of McFarlan, and Eugene Parker, of Lilesville; two daughters, Linda Mullis, of Rockingham, and Wendy Jones, of Lilesville; four brothers, Jimmy Yow, of Troy, Ike McCaskill, Johnny McCaskill and Earl McCaskill, all of High Falls; three sisters, Ann Ritter, Peggy Snelling and Betty Hurley, all of High Falls; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Leavitt Funeral Home, Lilesville, is assisting the family.
