Is there anything positive about "global warming"? Consider the following seven brief paragraphs, asking after each one, Is this bad?

The environmentalists say that global warming will cause 400,000 deaths by 2050. Have you heard that 1,800,000 lives will be saved due to global warming in the same time frame?

Why do we have Greenland? At one time there were farming and cattle raising there, but they disappeared due to global cooling. Farming has returned, due to global warming.

Global warming can reduce the number of hurricanes that hit our country, according to researchers at the Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory.

Global warming extends the growing season, which is a boon to farmers all over the world.

Heating bills will be reduced. This would be a financial godsend.

Shippers would have a shortcut through the Arctic from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Our country wants to be energy-independent. The solution may be off the Alaskan coastline in an area the environmentalists are attempting to rule off limits to protect the polar bear. (This is in spite of the fact that the polar bear population has increased from 5,000 to 25,000 since 1960). It's estimated that 15 billion barrels of oil and 76 trillion cubic feet of natural gas would be available.

Professor Fred Singer says, "We can only trust that reason will prevail in the face of an onslaught of propaganda like Gore's movie and despite incessant misinformation generated by the media. Today the costs are modest and mostly hidden in taxes and charges for electricity and motor fuels. If the scaremongers have their way, these costs will become enormous. Hopefully, good sense and sound science will prevail."
