Systemic Gender Bias Crops Up in Columns

I had not paid much attention to the claims of gender bias by some Democrats during their nomination race, but Steve Bouser's strongly worded column (June 11) and intern John Krahnert's column (June 13) did make me notice.

The systemic gender bias in this country was especially evident in Krahnert's writing as he referred to "Sen. McCain" and "Sen. Obama" and then to "Hillary."

I suppose it could be that he is not aware she is a senator, but the rest of his well written and presented offering leads me to believe otherwise. I hope he will be able to get beyond that type of thing as his promising career develops.
