Local Junior Riders Shine at Horse Show

Erin Boles was the bronze medalist in the Alumni Equitation Over Fences class at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's (IHSA) 2008 Nationals held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in May. IHSA Nationals participants are the top 400 intercollegiate riders competing as Individual and/or Team riders in Hunt Seat Equitation or Western Horsemanship and Reigning.
Boles, a first-year pharmacy student at the South Carolina School of Pharmacy, represented the College of Charleston as an individual rider in the Alumni division. Boles is a former student of Melanie Wyatt's and she was also a junior member of the Moore County Hounds before going to college.
IHSA consists of collegiate riding teams and clubs encompassing 29 Regions in 9 Zones. The IHSA has over 300 member colleges representing 45 states and Canada.
Local junior riders placed well at the Virginia International CCI* held over Memorial Day Weekend. Andrew Diemer and Cold Harbor finished third in the Junior Young Rider Division. Alex Martone and Copperfield finished fourth.
