The Southern Pines Pool opened Memorial Day weekend to warm, sunny weather and a great crowd who enjoyed swimming and splashing fun.

The pool is currently open on weekends and will begin its regular operating schedule June 10 to August 24, and the weekend of Aug. 30, 31 and Sept. 1. The pool is open every day except Mondays, from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.

A free swim is held the first hour of every day, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

The pool admission fees are:

- 12 years and under, $1 for Southern Pines residents and $2 for nonresidents.

- 13 years and over, $2 for Southern Pines residents and $4 for nonresidents.

Children 6 years and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.

The Pool Park is at 730 S. Stephens St.
