In honor of Flag Day, New Horizons Band will offer a brief performance at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, in the lobby of the Senior Enrichment Center. New Horizons members are adults that either have had no musical experience at all, or those who were in school music programs many years ago.

"This Moore County chapter has been meeting weekly at the Senior Enrichment Center, and has made remarkable progress since they began," says a spokesman. " We know that for most of the last century, about 15 to 20 percent of high school students nationally participated in music. From that, we can estimate that at least 80 percent of the adult population needs beginning instruction in order to participate in making music."

Refreshments will be served.
