Hoffman Man Arrested on Drug Charges

Moore County sheriff's deputies arrested a Hoffman man June 2 in the parking lot of Hardee's on U.S. 1 in Aberdeen with 2.7 ounces of crack cocaine.
Officers from the Moore County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit conducted the investigation and made the arrest. They seized 79 grams of crack cocaine, 29 grams of marijuana (about one ounce), and $72.83 cash.
With a assistance of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, investigators searched the suspect's home on Michael Street in Hoffman. Officers seized 30 grams of crack cocaine, 8.2 ounces of marijuana, five firearms and $8,485 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $18,790.
Deputies charged John Calvin Brown III, 23, with felony trafficking cocaine by possession, felony trafficking cocaine by transportation, felony possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brown was jailed under a $100,000 bond.
