Great Fourth in Village

The 64 businesses that make up the Pinehurst Business Guild would like to thank all the volunteers for their help and support during the annual Fourth of July parade and pet parade. The volunteers were led by Helen Neill, and the pet parade was organized by Maureen Tkatz of Pinehurst.

I have heard many positive comments from visitors in the village as well as our own Moore County residents regarding the day's events. Compliments ranged from how great the decorations were to how well organized the event was.

The day's activities were followed by a wonderful display of fireworks at the Fair Barn, courtesy of the Village of Pinehurst. All in all, it was a very patriotic Fourth of July.

The Pinehurst Business Guild is celebrating its 28th year of service this year. Our mission continues to be promoting business and commerce in the community, educating our members, being a voice for Pinehurst businesses and fostering networking and promotion.

We are always looking for new members and volunteers for our events. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to pbguild@pinehurst.net.

Our next event is the 30th Annual Holly Arts and Crafts Festival. The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008. We hope to see you there!

R. Patrick Barry, President, Pinehurst Business Guild
