Electronics Recycling Event Set for Saturday, Aug. 2

There will be a free electronics recycling and paper shredding day at the Wal-Mart parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.
Accepted items include: computers; monitors; keyboards; DVD players; fax and copy machines; VCRs; scanners; cell phones; telephones; laptops; screens; mice; modems; telephones; rechargeable batteries; cameras; projectors; pagers; microwaves; vacuums; transformers; ink cartridges; radios; power cables; and remotes.
"The Creative Recycling Company guarantees that data will be erased," says a spokesman.
The event is co-sponsored by Keep Moore County Beautiful, the Village of Pinehurst, and the towns of Aberdeen and Southern Pines.
