In recent weeks, zealots in Israel have been rattling swords with promises to bomb nuclear sites in Iran. This is not good.

It's time for the U.S. to divest itself from the joined-at-the-hip relationship with Israel. Had we done so years ago we would have avoided the catastrophic event of Sept. 11.

I guess this letter falls within the late Sam Ragan's definition of the function of a newspaper, "to print the news and raise hell."
