Over the course of the last week, the Moore County Sheriff's Department has arrested three people and charged them with several larcenies, according to a press release.
On Monday, the department arrested James D. Cunningham, 50, of Vass. On July 11, the department arrested Julian Dubays McDonald, 36, of Cameron. On July 8, the department arrested James W. Washington, 51, of Sanford. Cunningham, whose bail was set at $15,000 bail, was charged with six counts of felony larceny and six counts of possession of stolen goods. Washington, whose bail was set at $7,500, was charged with four counts of felony larceny and four counts of possession of stolen property. McDonald, whose bail was set at $50,000, was charged with six counts of felony larceny and six counts of possession of stolen property.
The arrests stemmed from a June 23 report from an Eagle Springs resident that multiple vehicles and scrap had been stolen from land he owns on Vass-Carthage Road, and a June 26 report from a Vass resident that someone had taken a rotary tiller from his property.
