'The Music Man' at SLT

Poor ol' Allan Jefferys, a top-notch theater critic in New York, has found there are lots of us with lots to say down here in the Sandhills. As a former singer with Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians out of New York City, I think Jefferys missed his mark again when he wrote "The bottom line is the SLT had never done a musical."

Well, I very well remember singing in the school board quartet in Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" in 1989, with the Sandhills Little Theatre. I believe that the director, Pat Watson, and the musical director, Mari Jo Brown, would be quite surprised to learn that SLT had never done a musical.
