In addition to the culinary creations planned by Executive Chef Scott Margolis, Penick Village's third annual Art Show and Sale Preview Party will feature an impressive collection of silent auction items including golf, catered dinner parties and both domestic and offshore getaways.
The preview party takes place Friday, Feb. 29, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., in Penick Village's North Building on East Rhode Island Extension, Southern Pines.
The $40 per person admission includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and the silent auction.
Proceeds will benefit the Penick Village Benevolent Assistance Fund.
In addition to silent auction items, preview party guests will have an advance opportunity to purchase paintings, photography and pottery that are part of the Art Show and Sale.
The show and sale continue on Saturday, March 1, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., when light refreshments will be served and admission is free.
Valet parking will be available at both the Friday and Saturday events.
Here in the "golf capital of the world," it only makes sense that Penick's silent auction items include an array of golf packages, including golf for four at Pinehurst No. 8, golf fitness evaluation and workouts, golf merchandise and rounds at other Sandhills courses. Area businesses also have been generous with gift certificates to numerous shops, restaurants and other entertainment venues.
Silent auction getaways feature an Emerald Isle beach home with golf, a N.C. mountain cabin, time at Lake Tahoe, and a Bahamas beach retreat. Special epicurean treats encompass a tapas dinner for 20, dinner for 8 in your home with floral arrangements by Botanicals, and a dinner for 12 with live music in historic Pinehurst.
"We are thrilled by the generosity of businesses and individuals that will make our preview party and silent auction our best yet," said Betsy Saye, preview party chair.
