I have a few comments about a recent experience with Carolina Eye Associates. I was referred to them for cataract surgery. I chose Dr. Anna Fakadej, and from our first meeting, I thought I had made a good choice.

Yes, I had heard stories of the long waits, the "herding," etc. But I was hopeful it would be worth it. I went into it with an open mind and the experience was very rewarding.

I had surgery on one eye, and my care was exceptional. The nurses and techs and all of the escorts were polite and very professional. My follow-up with Dr. Throneburg went well. He suggested that the time was right for the second eye. So, two weeks later, I was back for my second surgery.

My follow-up instructions were very complete. The one time I needed to call, the response was immediate, and I felt a personal connection over the phone.

After each of the surgeriees, someone called the following day just to ask if all was OK. They make you feel as though you are the only patient.

I had my final checkup yesterday, and Dr. Throneburg released me to my regular doctor. We are so fortunate to have such a facility right here in our community. Dr. Martin and the staff should be proud of the well-considered procedures they have created. Thanks to them, I shall be enjoying my "new eyes" for many years.
