The Alumni Association at Sandhills Community College recently passed the one-year mark and has grown to 765 members.

"We're very pleased with the interest we've had for the association," said Leah Burger, alumni relations coordinator at Sandhills. "Our graduates have had a wonderful college experience and have a desire to remain connected."

The advent of online networking sites makes it much easier for college alumni to reconnect. The SCC Alumni Association now has streamlined registration, posted announcements and photos, and easy communication through it's alumni Web site. It is linked from the SCC homepage, www.sandhills.edu.

"College graduates communicate and stay informed over the Internet," Burger said. "It has been a very effective tool and had helped Sandhills stay connected with our alumni."

Sandhills Community College graduated its first student in 1966.
