Thomasville came out on fire and burned the nets for 29 first quarter points in a 74-28 victory over the North Moore girls on Senior Night in Robbins. It was the 20th straight loss of the season for the Mustangs who could only put eight healthy players on the floor.

"Thomasville's coach told me they have eight seniors on their team," North Moore head coach Brandon Reynolds said. "We've only got eight available healthy players on our roster."

Senior post player Ashley Brower was the latest Mustang casualty. Brower was limited to a token start after suffering a fractured ankle last week.

What started out to be a blowout of epic proportions after a 29-0 first quarter turned into a respectable game over the final 24 minutes of play. The Mustangs got started when freshman guard Katelyn Sheffield buried a three-pointer early in the second quarter. Senior point guard Brandi Bond added a pair of treys in the period to help North Moore produce 15 points in one of their best offensive quarters of the season.

Thomasville had to reinsert the starting lineup to keep the Mustangs from cutting into their huge lead. It was 48-15 at the half.

Neither team was able to generate a lot of offense the rest of the way. It was 64-21 after three quarters and ended 74-28. Bond and Sheffield shared team-high honors for North Moore with seven points each. Lauren Green was next with six points and Hillary Walters had four.

The Bulldogs had five different players score in double figures.

It's likely to be one-and-done for the hard luck Mustangs in the YVC Tournament. Both potential opponents have handled undermanned North Moore with ease this season.

The first round of the YVC Tournament at Denton is scheduled for Monday. Pairings and game times were not available at press time.
