Happy Ending for Dude

Sunday, Feb. 9, was a cold and blustery day. My dog Dude decided to roam from home. He went so far he did not know how to return. This behavior was unlike our pet. Obviously, with the high wind, he was unable to get a scent to bring him home from three blocks away. Sunday night was a nightmare.

On Monday, I phoned the Pinebluff Police Department to put an APB out on him. Monday afternoon, a Pinebluff policeman rang my doorbell. When I opened the door, he smiled and said he thought he had located my pet, and asked whether I could produce a picture of him.

A family had seen a dog dodging traffic on U.S. 1 Sunday afternoon. After reviewing the picture, the police officer told me that he was the dog. He kindly went and got him for me.

Thank you, Pinebluff Police Department, and Shelly Martin and family, for caring and taking the time to return a very precious part of my life to me. Dude is now in lockdown!
