Reason to Celebrate

I totally agree with the letters you have received about the "holiday" parade. What is this holiday that we are celebrating? It is the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior. That is why it is called (Christ)mas. This is the day when we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
I do not understand why everything has been changed to "holiday." If you are not celebrating the birth of Jesus, then what are you celebrating? What are the parades for? What are the tree lightings for? I do not feel that Christians should be under attack and have our Christmas festivities taken away simply because some people object or don't believe in Jesus. Why should we as Christians suffer?
I take great offense that the town is trying to rename Christmas and call it a "holiday." I don't understand why this is the only time of year that the name Christmas has changed to "holiday" and every other holiday's name has remained unchanged. If you take Christ out of Christmas, there is no holiday to celebrate!
Happy birthday, Jesus!
