The Union Pines girls defeated Southern Lee 43-34 tonight (Tuesday) in the consolation matchup of the Holiday Girls' Basketball Tournament being held at Pinecrest High School.

The Patriots were scheduled to face off against Scotland County in the tournament final.

Alishia Mosley poured in 17 points to lead the Vikings over the Cavs. Both teams compete in the Cape Fear Valley Conference. The Vikes improved to 9-3 with the win.

Pinecrest earned a berth in tonight's final by defeated Southern Lee, while Scotland County knocked off Union Pines in Monday's first-round contests.
