The finish to the Pilot football contest is in sight. The final entry for the 13-week pick'em ran in the Dec. 1 issue of the paper.

The winner for this week's contest performed like a clutch field goal kicker, nailing 14 of 16. Justin Flinchum earned first place in week 12, despite missing the Monday night contest. He finished a game better than second- and third-place winners Patricia Green and Michael Brown. Green of Southern Pines and Brown of Aberdeen both picked Houston in the Monday night game to vault into a three-way tie with 13 wins. Green and Brown were closest to the tiebreaker total of 47 to take second and third.
