Anyone planning to purchase poinsettias this holiday season is asked to consider coming to the Moore Habitat Store.

Poinsettias will be available with a $10 donation. Three types are available: red, white and variegated. Each plant has been wrapped, ready for display.

All proceeds go to Habitat's Women Build house, which starts construction in September 2009 and will be completed by next Christmas.

Women Build is a program that nurtures, recruits and trains women to build simple, decent and affordable houses. Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills has constructed two Women Build houses.

Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills is a Christian housing ministry that is able to offer interest-free mortgages to individuals in need of simple, decent housing. The nonprofit organization partners with families, volunteers, churches and community groups to work toward the goal of ending substandard housing in the Sandhills.
