The Fair Barn will become an authentic Fest Haus for the celebration of Oktoberfest at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.

The Gootman Sauerkraut Band will set the stage for a fun-filled evening of entertainment. Under the direction of Jerry Goodman, the band includes Alp Horns, tuned bells and the "singing saw." The American-German club will lead the dances and contests, providing the opportunity for people in the crowd to join in and dance with them.

The German food will be prepared and served by Elliott's on Linden. The sale of traditional German and American beverages will be provided by the Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills and benefit several local children's charities.

Tickets are $20 and include a choice of food. To purchase tickets call 910-295-1900, use a credit card, and tickets will be held at the door. Checks or cash will buy tickets at The Country Bookshop, Southern Pines or King's in the Theatre Building, Pinehurst.

The Fair Barn is located on N.C. 5 and Morganton Road in Pinehurst.
