Jenna Barrett, Belle Meade concierge, was recognized at a recent St. Joseph of the Pines Board of Trustees meeting with the organization's Values In Practice (VIP) award.
The award acknowledges employees whose professionalism, initiative, dedication, and commitment reflect the St. Joseph's Mission and Core Values, a news release said.
Barrett has been an employee of St. Joseph of the Pines since October 2005, holding a variety of positions, ranging from wait staff to providing administrative and emotional support to both residents and associates.
Prior to joining St. Joseph of the Pines, Barrett worked in a restaurant environment, which set the stage for her service-oriented nature.
In addition to her full-time position at Belle Meade, Barrett is also a full-time student at East Carolina University, majoring in health service management.
In her free time, she has been busy planning her August wedding, and enjoys redecorating her home and spending time with her fianc and their dogs.
When asked what her favorite thing is about working at St. Joseph of the Pines, Barrett says, "It's the residents I love. They are a great family."
Tony Paz, director of resident support services for Belle Meade and Barrett's supervisor, says, "Due to health reasons, I was recently away for more than two weeks. During my absence, I was hardly noticed because of the impeccable job Jenna did handling concerns of residents and staff."
Lisa Mudd, Belle Meade director of arts and leisure, agrees.
"Jenna demonstrates a consistent and admirable professionalism," Mudd says. "She conveys an open welcome to all with whom she interacts on a daily basis, from guests of Belle Meade to fellow associates to residents. You name it, she is able to facilitate it and accomplish those needs and requests with ease. Her initiative to make good decisions, assist when needed, and maintain productivity is wonderful."
St. Joseph of the Pines Health System, a member of Catholic Health East, is sponsored by the Sisters of Providence and includes Belle Meade Resort Retirement, the Villas at Pine Knoll, the Overlook at Pine Knoll, the Coventry, the Health Center and Providence Place communities.
