Animal Advocates of Moore County (AAMC) will be holding a flea market in the Gold's Gym parking lot in Southern Pines Saturday, Sept. 13. The organization needs donated items (with the exception of clothing and heavy furniture) to be sold at this event.

"You may drop items at the AAMC office at 229A Ridgeline Road, Aberdeen or call Patty at the office at 944-5098, or call Amber at 295-5943 to arrange to have items picked up."

Those wishing to sell their own items may obtain a space by calling Linda at 215-5929. Spaces are $30.

"The last several months have been trying for Animal Advocates as they were hit with many calls for the emergency rescue of animals," says the spokesman. "Cases ranged from saving a Lab-mix puppy that was dragged behind a car; a Chow-mix puppy found in a horrific rain storm; and retrieving and saving a mother calico cat that had been thrown from a car. Happily, these animals have been recovering and have been adopted. Public support is necessary to continue these endeavors."
