I'm a longtime subscriber to The Pilot and have put up with a lot of the liberal editorials, commentaries and support for John Edwards, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and many other liberal candidates the paper enjoys supporting.
I haven't written before now because I just let these many times and issues go by as water under the bridge. But the July 30 edition depicted our president and commander-In-chief, George W. Bush, as the deposed and murderous dictator of Serbia, Rodovan Karadzic, a war criminal.
This is totally beyond "poor taste" and goes into the area of slander and false representation of the president's character. To compare him to this real war criminal is despicable.
I request a full and public accounting, apology and retraction for this cartoon, for disparaging our president in this way.
Oh, by the way, it was our Congress, the UN, and other foreign nations who supported our commander-In-chief in going to war in Iraq and Afghanistan. They voted for it and supported it even in the face of having the facts distorted by intelligence services here and around the world concerning the issues of the day.
How about running something like how well the Iraqis are doing today, and a job well done by our military services concerning the surge that has worked, is working and now seeing more troops coming home due to its success.
Don't hold out like Barack Obama and not admit that it's working and we're having success in the face of opposition.
